Preparations for the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections. The state BJP has announced a seven-member state-level election management committee in the run-up to the panchayat elections. This was announced by state BJP president Sameer Mohanty.
The seven-member committee includes former state president, former union minister and MP Joel Oram, former state president and MP Basant Panda, former minister and senior MLA Jaya Narayan Mishra, opposition chief whip Mohan Majhi, state vice-president Anita Shubhadarshini, state general secretary Golok Mohapatra and BJP panchayat Raj state coordinator Shankarshan Parida are members.
